"Motherhood" by Sanjukta Dash, from the Mother's Day Gifted Words Anthology

Motherhood

A mother is not from,
Some other planet,
Not made of some,
Extraordinary constituents,
She has the same  flesh and blood,
As others,
But....with the only two attributes,
She stands apart,
A big beautiful heart,
Which can accommodate,
The entire creation of the universe,
And eyes those radiate,
Unconditional love,
Which has the power,
To nurture and nourish,
The entire mankind,

Motherhood is not about,
Bearing a child,
With self flesh and blood,
And growing him with,
Passion and dedication,
So that he will be an adult,
In due course,
Being a mother,
Is much above and beyond,
It's about the creation,
Of a human being,
Full of sensitivity rationality and Compassion,
Instilling kindness empathy and goodness,
For the world as a whole,
Imbibing the value system,
In the nervous system,
And each life cell,
An empathetic mind,
A throbbing heart with love,
And a pure vibrant soul,

Motherhood is all about,
Selfless love and,
Unconditional contribution,
Of a lifetime,
Even after life,
Being an unextinguished inspiration.
