When the Paint Speaks by Rasheed Olayemi Nojeem from The Art Culture and HIstory Anthology

When the Paint Speaks

When the paint speaks, it whispers dreams,

In strokes that shimmer, in hues that gleam.

It tells of skies, the sunbeam,

Of meadows bathed in twilight cream.

Each color sings a silent song,

Of fleeting moments, short yet strong,

A burst of red, a pulse, a gong,

A breath of blue, with a dingdong.

The canvas hums with untold tales,

Of whispered winds and ghostly sails.

A golden sun that we hail,

A shadow’s dance that avails.

The painter’s hand may guide the flow,

But paint reveals what words can't show.

In every line, in every glow,

A world is born; from it, greatness grows.

So when the paint speaks, listen well,

To hear the thoughts that colors dwell.

For in the quiet strokes, there’s a merry bell,

The hidden voice of heart, that foretells.
