Through The streets of My City

 

Through the streets of my city,

Rarely do lenecounter hope,

More courses, disappontment an vomit,

For someone, the daye dies prematyrely!

 

I walk tvo, but I  kick the the curses away

From the depths of the years,

Memories awaken me,

In the landscope of time,

I sometimes deceive myself,

In the forest of thoughts,

Some traps ambush my steps.

 

I walk, others walk too,

Someone’s steps  grow  heavy,

I wander, the steps of our country,

How are the they traveling?!

 Biography

Maxhun Osmanaj was born on Aprill 25,1958, in the village o Prekallë in Istog.He completed elementary scholl in Zallq, high scholl in Istog, and earned his degree in Literature and Albanian Language from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Prishtina.For over four decades,he has bean engagend in literary public i stic creativity and journalism, collaborating with magazines, newspapers, and online platforms in Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia.Osmanaj writes poetry for children and adult proze, and occasionolly literary criticism.He is a member of the Kosovo Writers League, a member of the Writers’  Caravan for Children “Agim Deva”, Prishtina, a member of the editorial board of the schooll magazine “The morning bird”,Prishtina and coordinator of the newspaper”Gazeta e Alpeve”,Tirana for the municipolities of, Peja, Istog, and Klina.Additionally, he has contributed to many Antologies  in Kosovo, Albania, and Italy.Osmanaj’s poetry has been translated into French.For 27 jahrs, he workeded as a teacher of Albanian literature at the “Avni Rrustemi”.Elementary school Zallq.He lives and works in Istog Kosovë.                                

  Literary Award and Recognitions

Third place 2018(coded competition) in honor on June 16 Malisheva Liberation and Martyrs’Day.First Prize for poetry september 2018, from the “Vorea Ujko”.Writers club in Klina, at the Children’s poetry Meeting. Third Prize from the Literary Artistic Asociations “Princ Muzaka”-Fier-Tirana, National Poetry Comtition, May 2020.Third Prize” Shpata e Fjalës”,Liberary-Cultural Manifestation Prizren 2020.The Kosova Writers’ League honored him with the literary award “Publications of the Albanological Institute of prishtina” at the “Esad Mekuli” literary meeting on December 2017.On Octomber 9.2024 the Writers’ Caravan for Children”Agim Deva”Prishtina a warded him the “Ymer  Elshani” Prize for the best Children’s work publischedi in two caravans for his worke “How Doe Autumm Knock?”.
